How Does UV Light Technology Kill Bacteria?

Using short wavelengths.

Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation is an effective disinfection technique that uses short-wavelength UV-C rays to inactivate or eradicate microorganisms, viruses, pathogens or bacteria.

The wavelengths destroy the nucleic acids, which disrupts the microorganism’s DNA, which means they are unable to replicate and multiply.

How Long Does It Take For UV Light To Kill Bacteria?

The reason why UV light kills bacteria, microorganisms, pathogens and viruses effectively is that it works on the principles of The Inverse Square Law.

This same law applies to germicidal ultraviolet exactly the same way as it does to light.

The translation of this means that the killing power decreases as the distance from the bulbs increase.

How Does It Work?
